I spent the afternoon in dialogue with Versatorium, a collaborative translation/research group based in Vienna. Members bring diverse languages together in a project to translate texts from German into other languages and back. The text they are working with presently is by Elfriede Jelinek. The group actively supported refugee protests in Vienna in 2012 and engaged actively with the protesters, some of whom are now members of Versatorium. They also actively supported people on the move in the fall near the border with Slovenia, cooking and providing food. We immediately found connections, and parted with an agreement to collaborate on a participatory performance in Wien! Very excited about that. Thanks to Versatorium members Peter, Gregor, Muhammad, Helmut, Amer, Evana, Anna Aigerim, Jen, Dhia. Looking forward to working with you in October.
